 About The Library

The mission of the James Rutter Middle School Library is:

  • to promote lifelong literacy and learning;
  • to provide opportunities and resources for students to effectively use information to creatively meet personal, academic, and community goals;
  • to collaborate with staff to support students’ mastery of Common Core State Standards in preparation for high school and beyond; and,
  • to develop a library collection that reflects the needs and interests of the JRMS student body.

About the Teacher Librarian

Ms. Conway loves being the Teacher Librarian at JRMS. Before she loved being the librarian, she loved being a Language Arts teacher at our school for twelve years. Mrs. Conway completed her student teaching at Rutter in 2000 and has been here ever since!  She earned her BA and teaching credential from UC Davis. She also earned her Masters in Education from Walden University and her librarian credential from Sac State.

She LOVES to read. Ask her what she is reading right now!

About the Library Tech!

Miss Jessica began working at Sutter County Library of Yuba City in 2008 She also worked at Browns Elementary School library as well as Sutter Branch library, before moving to Sacramento. It was more than just a job to her; she loved building new relationships with the community and the children. She enjoys working with kids, encouraging them to read, and making a difference. She is excited for the opportunity to work at JRMS so she can continue being a part of the teacher community.
